Dongeon Lee
KAIST, Daejeon, Republic of Korea

I am an Integrated PhD student at Cho Chun Shik Graduate School of Mobility, KAIST, where I research under the guidance of Prof. Namwoo Kang at Smart Design Lab. My research focuses on generative design, data-driven design, and surrogate/generative model-based design optimization, with a strong emphasis on uncertainty quantification (UQ). I am highly interested in leveraging advanced AI methodologies to address engineering challenges, particularly in manufacturing.
Before joining KAIST, I worked as an Associate Research Engineer at Hanwha Defense (Currently Hanwha Aerospace), where I contributed to integrated logistics support (ILS) for defense systems like infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). I also hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Pusan National University (PNU), where I graduated summa cum laude.
Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I am passionate about bridging AI and real-world physical systems, with a focus on insights from multi-scale, multi-physics, and multi-fidelity data for virtual product development. You can explore my achievements here.
